Two notable leadership changes have been announced within the insurance industry: Transamerica has appointed Ryan Parker as head of life distribution. Concurrently, Canopius has named Tom Losquadro vice president of underwriting for national hull and liability US.
As head of life distribution, Parker will be responsible for leading the distribution strategy for Transamerica’s life insurance business, according to a news release. Parker will report directly to Rob Carney, chief distribution officer for life, annuities, and mutual funds.
Rob Carney expressed confidence in Parker’s capabilities, stating, “Ryan is the right leader at the right time. He has a proven record of energizing distribution teams and delivering results, all while keeping customers’ needs front and center.”
Parker brings more than 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry, with a background that includes building high-performing sales organizations and cultivating strong relationships with agents. He joins Transamerica from F&G, where he most recently served as senior vice president of life distribution. Parker succeeds Wendy Boyd, who has taken on the role of chief distribution officer at World Financial Group, a Transamerica subsidiary.

Canopius Group, a global specialty and property and casualty re/insurer, has announced the appointment of Losquadro as vice president of underwriting for national hull and liability US. The company stated that Losquadro began his tenure with Canopius on May 19, 2025, and reports to Neetu Varghese, head of marine US.
Losquadro brings to the role expertise in marine insurance, having held senior positions at both AIG and Marsh McLennan. Prior to joining Canopius, he led the hull & liabilities underwriting team at AIG, focusing on large corporate and middle-market marine risks across the Northeast US. In his new role, Losquadro will lead underwriting for national hull & liability in the US, with responsibilities including driving performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening relationships across the market.
“His extensive experience across both multinational and domestic marine insurance brings valuable insight to our growing team,” said Varghese, adding that Losquadro’s relationships with brokers and strategic underwriting expertise would be instrumental in expanding Canopius’ presence in the US marine sector.
